Tip dressers, milling tools and blades for electrode caps

During the resistance welding process, the electrode caps are subjected to high mechanical and thermal stress. Moreover, in the case of welding of coated sheets, the alloy components from the coating of the sheets penetrate to the tip electrodes. A brass coating is formed on the surface of the electrodes, which lowers their conductivity. In order to maintain a constant, reproducible quality of the welding points in terms of size, strength and shape, it is necessary to constantly maintain the required diameter of the welding point of the electrodes. The layer of brass and other impurities on the outer surface of the electrodes should also be systematically removed. We can achieve the above goals by using various types of tip dressers, both for manual and robotic welding guns. Specialized milling tools are mounted to the tip dressers, enabling milling of the electrodes in the desired shape.

A device powered by compressed air for dressing process and restore the electrode cap back to its original geometry. Due to their special design, they enable one-sided dressing, i.e. only the upper electrodes or only the lower electrodes are dressing in one operation.

 

Advantages of using single-sided pneumatic tip dresser:

- compressed air supply, no electricity, the highest safety
and comfort of work
- one-sided dressing process without clamping the electrodes
- a special design provides adequate pressure to the dressing electrode cap

Hand tool for dressing process and restore the electrode cap back to its original geometry. Double-sided dressing, the upper and lower electrodes are dressing at the same time.

Our milling tools enable the dressing of electrode caps according to DIN, VW, Fiat, Ford, Mabec and other automotive standards with almost any geometry. The tools consists of a universal housing that is used for all design solutions and various types of electrodes of any shape. Fixed in tip dressing units with a bayonet, "Quick-Lock" or "Torx" connection (optional other fixtures). The use of precision milling tools allows you to optimize the processing of secondary electrodes. After the appropriate selection of milling parameters (pressure, time), we achieve a very long life of the electrodes and shorten the processing time to the necessary minimum. Accordingly, the downtime of the line is reduced due to the replacement of the electrode caps.

- simple construction, only one blade with high durability
- very quick and easy blade replacement
- precise and constant maintenance of the diameter of the welding point of the secondary electrodes
- high smoothness of treated electrode surfaces
